Setup

Direct wired connection: Transparent fibre optic cables are pulled into and installed directly in each room. This delivers a consistently strong and ultra-fast Internet experience, no matter the distance.

Wireless coverage: Mesh device(s) are placed around your home to create a wireless network that extends WiFi signals across a wider area.

Performance

The wired connection brings the power of fibre directly to each room, delivering blazing speeds, rock-solid stability and minimal signal drop for a flawless Internet experience, wherever you are at home e.g. on a 1Gbps plan, expect 1Gbps speeds in rooms equipped with FTTR.

The more mesh devices you install, the wider the WiFi coverage. However, the signal may weaken the farther it gets from the router.

FTTR is our brand-new add-on service that lets you surf, stream and game at speeds up to 1Gbps in every room. Built on Huawei’s Fibre-To-The-Room (FTTR) technology, it involves pulling transparent micro optical fibre cables to where you need it, ensuring a fast connection and smooth experience no matter where you are at home.

This service is exclusively available to Time Fibre Home 1Gbps subscribers in selected buildings.

Should I opt for Fibre-To-The-Room (FTTR) or mesh WiFi?

That really depends on your needs and preferences.

If you prioritise ease of use, affordability and flexibility, mesh WiFi offers a good balance between functionality and convenience.

But if you’re looking for the best speed, performance and reliability – and don’t mind the cost and hassle of installation – FTTR is for you.

How long and what to expect during installation?

Depending on the complexity of the setup, installation could take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours.
