Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,  27 April 2022 – Fortinet®, a global leader in broad, integrated and automated cybersecurity solutions, today announced that TIME dotCom Berhad (TIME), one of Malaysia's top-ranked telecommunications providers, is now an Advanced Partner with Fortinet – empowering TIME to expand services with support from Fortinet’s world-class technology. In addition, Fortinet's Secure SD-WAN solutions are now part of the virtualised networking services under TIME’s cloud infrastructure. Malaysian enterprises that depend on TIME for managed security services (MSS) will be able to enjoy enhanced security, networking, performance and support from TIME and Fortinet to better compete in the digital economy.

Fortinet's partner programme, "Fortinet Engage", is designed to better prepare service providers to succeed in today's security environment. TIME's "Advanced Partner" status is in recognition of its capabilities in delivering the full spectrum of Fortinet solutions, affirming the expertise of TIME's in-house engineers for excelling in Fortinet's industry-recognised certification programmes. With proven success in deploying Fortinet solutions in complex environments, advanced-tier partners are able to handle a variety of implementation requirements.

“Businesses want secure solutions integrated from the ground up. Our customers sleep soundly knowing that TIME has partnered with Fortinet, a leader in security and networking solutions. In addition to Fortinet’s security-driven networking technology, our triple MEF-certified network is also the first to have passed the Malaysian banking and financial sector’s stringent Network Resilience and Risk Assessment Audit based on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (Central Bank of Malaysia) Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) policy. In short, what we have done is integrate TIME’s high-quality service with Fortinet’s industry-leading technology, delivering the most robust and secure SD-WAN solution in the Malaysian market,” said Kit Au, Executive Vice President of Enterprise Business at TIME dotCom.

TIME’s customers that deploy Fortinet solutions will be supported by the Fortinet Security Fabric, the industry’s highest-performing cybersecurity mesh platform that is designed to reduce complexity and increase overall security effectiveness across today’s expanding networks such as the modern work-from-anywhere (WFA) trend. Fortinet's technology enhances TIME’s network functions virtualisation infrastructure (NFVi) solutions, giving access to Fortinet’s superior innovation and industry-leading threat intelligence to mitigate cyber attacks.

Additionally, TIME's customers will have access to coordinated, real-time threat detection and response via TIME’s virtual secured Customer Premise Equipment (vCPE), virtual Firewall (vFW), virtual Web Application Firewall (vWAF), ensuring consistent security enforcement across flexible perimeters.

TIME’s commitment to a secure, connected Malaysia was further underlined after it became the first service provider in Southeast Asia to be certified for MEF 3.0 SD-WAN services. MEF Forum (MEF) is the world’s authority for standardised network service and sets rigorous tests of SD-WAN service attributes and requirements. As a MEF 3.0 SD-WAN Certified Service Provider, TIME enhances its virtualised security offerings and strengthens its ecosystem, which supports hybrid multicloud setups, hyperscale data centres and a converged network. With Fortinet's Secure SD-WAN services as part of its managed services, TIME's customers gain full visibility across IT environments without compromising networking functionalities. This enables businesses to deploy integrated and consistent security practices across the network and shift away from complex point security solutions.

"Business requirements are evolving at break-neck speeds and TIME’s network ecosystem has been designed to ensure that these demands are met. With more businesses moving to hybrid networks, the dynamic and secure nature of TIME’s network architecture makes it a perfect fit for businesses looking to scale. Being a Fortinet Advanced Partner allows us to offer even more network features such as secure SD-WAN services to our customers," said Ang Thing Jiun, TIME's Chief Technology Officer.

"This partnership enables TIME to bridge different platforms, networks and clouds to deliver unified cross-platform visibility and control, protecting TIME's customers' networks from risks and propelling the performance of businesses in Malaysia," explained Dickson Woo, Country Manager, Fortinet Malaysia.

"With Fortinet, MSS providers (MSSP) offer customers cloud-native solutions with centralised protection over their multi-cloud deployments. They gain a fully integrated security architecture powered by AI so that their customers can fend off rapidly evolving threats. This is all on top of multiple product consumption models that gives MSSPs flexible service offerings, to drive cost efficiency and profitability," said Dickson Woo.
